2010 Season Review
In the shop, we are working hard to stay ahead of the game before the next season begins. We are trying to find more power as well as reliability; spending time on the spec USMTS engine as well as the spec (R&D mule) which has shown promise. We will continue to keep working and tweaking on this so stayed tuned for all of our latest accomplishments.
Sput's would like to take some time to recap last season and congratulate all of our winners and champions. The USMTS brought some great racing as Sput's powered several drivers into the top 10. 3rd - Tommy Myer, 4th - Zack Vanderbeek, 6th - Rodney Sanders, 7th - Jon Tesch, 9th - Jason Krohn, 10th - Tim Donlinger.
Sput's is always in the hunt for the Engine Builder of the Year award, but was edged out by only one point by Mullins in a nail biting battle.
We also had several drivers take some large paydays such as Rodney Sanders driving to a $12,000 victory at the USRA Modified Nationals. Jon Anderson also scored driving for the Shop Quik Team in a Hughes Sput's powered machine to a $10,000 win at the Belleville 100 Highbanks. Dustin Boney also won at the Tom Wilson Memorial Race to collect $5,000. We also had a fantastic year for our local drivers. Mississippi Thunder Championship: A-mod - Josh Angst, B-mod - Ben Anderson. Deer Creek Speedway Championship: A-mod - Jason Cummins, B-mod - Brandon Davis. Lansing Championship: A-mod - Jason Cummins, B-mod - Brandon Davis, Street Stock - AJ Zvorak.
Sput's would like to give a big congratulations to Jason Cummins for winning the USRA National Championship and also to Brandon Davis who clinched his first Wissota B-mod National Championship with 44 feature wins and 56 heat wins. Sput's winners were also highlighted in the drag racing world. Tri-State Raceway in Earlville, Iowa: Quick 16 - Duane Knutson, Super Pro - Matt Kohl. Mike Taylor also took the Midwest Bracket Alliance Championship.
Sput's would like to again congratulate all of the 2010 winners and hopes to have an even more powerful year in 2011. Thank you to everyone for their hard work, dedication, and support for racing!
