World Dirt Track Championship Final Night 7/28/12

Ryan "The Reaper" Gustin leaves the Creek $25,000 richer.
With $25,000 on the line dangling like a carrot in front of a drivers nose it was guaranteed to be a dogfight to the end. Eight Sput's customers secured spots in the feature after securing spots the first 3 nights or through the alphabet soup saturday. The feature was 75 laps and Joey Jensen led the first 15 laps before Gustin would make the challenge for the lead, but not far behind were the machines of Hughes and Cummins looking to make it a battle.  As laps clicked off and lap traffic became a factor Gustin would race to the win with Jensen, Hughes and Cummins rounding out the top 4.

  1. Ryan Gustin - Hughes/Mullins  $25,000
  2. Joey Jensen - GRT/Tims  $13,713
  3. Jason Hughes - Hughes/Mullins  $8,913
  4. Jason Cummins - Skyrocket/Sputs  $6,913
Heads You Win/Tails You Lose
An added feature this year was a surprise $5,000 to a pair of drivers who finished 10th and 11th. Those drivers in the end were Jon Tesch and Nate Wasmund. With the flip of a coin Tesch called "Heads" and with the coin landing "Heads Up" would collect the extra dough bringing his total to $7,713.

From Hard Luck To Hard Charger
Vanderbeek announced earlier in the week he would be making a switch from the Skyrocket chassis to a Hughes.  With starting 31st he would push the new tubing with Sput's power to a 13th finish to collect the hard charger of the event.
